My current position

I am currently working as project manager and senior developer in Advanced Computing Edge, and I have been working here since 2003. I am currently overseeing the company’s main product, ACE Retail POS, and managing and developing several other products as well, including integrated online shopping cart systems, accounting integration systems etc. My works not only made ACE Retail POS one of the best POS for small to medium retail and distribution businesses, for three consecutive years (2009-2011) my works won government SR&ED (Research & Development) funding over half a million dollars.

Interests and Skills

I always have interests in tools and software that help small business owners manage their daily tasks and improve their productivity; and all my experience are related to this. As as IT professionals, I have been working with database all the time, both administration and development, MS SQL Server and MySql, and several others as well. I am both experienced in desktop software development (C#, VB.NET, VB, PowerBuilder…) and web development (PHP, ASP.NET, HTML…). I have been developing and integrating with Simply Accounting, Peachtree and QuickBooks for many years. I am also highly interested in project management, search engine optimization(SEO) and social media marketing.

Kids I am so proud of

I have two lovely kids both so smart and full of life. My son being identified as gifted kids two years ago and this year my daughter also passed the gifted screening, I am so proud of them. Although I believe I am pretty good at reasoning and logic, but my son’s approach is so much intuitive and different than mine; my daughter is a social master and leader, from the kindergarten to now, it takes her no time at school to know all the kids in the class, teachers and stuff, even kids from higher grades; and everywhere else she goes, like library and community centers.

Love Canada

The best decision I had ever made is the decision to come to Canada. Canada is such a wonderful place, the freedom, the diversity, the climate (including the long winter), the environment, the opportunity and most importantly, the people, it gives me every sense of home and I am proud to be Canadian.
