How to claim your word press blog from technorati

When I was trying to sign in my wordpress blog for technorati I found out that I need to verify the blog with a verification token.

After google it I found out how to verify technorati claim for wordpress blog. Here are the steps:

  • RSS feed link for wordpress blog
For word press blog the RSS feed page is blog url with /feed, in my case is https://seanzhuang.wordpress.com/feed
Need to add this link to technorati’s RSS feed link when you claim the blog
  • Add technorati verification token to wordpress
You can add technorati verification token to a new blog post, make sure it is at the somewhere in the beginning of the post(otherwise if your wordpress RSS feed is feeding the summary, it may not show up in the blog feed where technorati try to find the token)
  • Publish the new post and log in to technorati account and click on the “Check Claim” and after that click on the “Verify Claim Token”

So If everything proceeds well then just within couple of minutes you will get an email saying “Technorati Claim in progess” with the following message:

This is an automatically-generated email.

Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review.

Now back to technorati account you will see that a message you will find following message:

We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting final review.

At this point we are all set, you can remove the technorati verification token from your post or simply delete the post.
